Salesian Congregation Prepares for Next General Chapter and Leadership Transition

Rome, 12 July 2023: In an announcement made by the Rector Major, Rt Rev Angel Fernandez Artime SDB, the Salesian congregation is preparing for significant changes in its leadership. The Rector Major, who is also the cardinal-elect, has informed the congregation that the next General Chapter, known as GC 29, is scheduled to begin in February 2025. However, prior to the General Chapter, the current Rector Major will continue to hold office until 31 July 2024.
