DON BOSCO MINTONG HOLDS INVESTITURE CEREMONY 2026

Mintong, June 24, 2026: Don Bosco School, Mintong, solemnly celebrated its Investiture Ceremony 2026 on June 24, entrusting the newly elected student leaders with the responsibility of guiding their fellow students throughout the academic year.

The programme began with a prayer song, followed by the inaugural address by the Principal, Fr. Emmanuel. The ceremony featured an impressive march past, the investiture of school, house, and class captains, and the oath-taking ceremony, during which the newly appointed leaders pledged to discharge their duties with sincerity and dedication.

The oath-taking ceremony was one of the most significant moments of the event. In a solemn and dignified atmosphere, the newly elected leaders pledged to uphold the values and ideals of the institution, perform their duties with honesty and dedication, and work tirelessly for the welfare of their fellow students. The oath symbolized their commitment to serve selflessly, foster unity, and lead by example throughout the academic year.

The occasion was graced by Fr. Phuvito, Principal of Don Bosco School, Longding, as the Chief Guest. Congratulating the newly elected school, house, and class leaders, Fr. Phuvito exhorted them to lead their companions towards greater heights. He described leadership as a sacred and holy duty that must be carried out with diligence and conviction.

Emphasizing the true meaning of leadership, Fr. Phuvito reminded the young leaders that they had been chosen from among their classmates to serve and not to dominate. Quoting the phrase, “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas,” popularized by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he stressed that leadership should promote the welfare and growth of all.

“A good leader does not command but leads by example,” he said, adding that genuine leadership earns respect and cooperation. He further noted that leaders are collaborators of teachers and the Principal, entrusted with the responsibility of fostering unity rather than creating divisions among students and staff.

Describing leaders as links in a chain, Fr. Phuvito urged them to strengthen relationships within the school community so that the institution may function harmoniously. He reminded the students that their leadership should always serve the good of the students, teachers, school, and society at large.

The programme was enriched by colourful cultural presentations, including a Gospel Dance, Wancho Dance, Mime, and Galo Dance. The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks, leaving the newly invested leaders inspired to serve with commitment, humility, and dedication.
