DON BOSCO HR. SEC. SCHOOL, DERGAON EXTENSION BUILDING INAUGURATED AND BLESSED

10th February 2026 was indeed a memorable day in the golden annals of Don Bosco, and in particular the bosconians and the parents of DBHSS Dergaon. It was on that day the school extension building of Don Bosco Hr. Sec. School, Dergaon was jointly inaugurated by Rev. Fr. Provincial and Shri. Bhabendra Bharali MLA, Dergaon. It was blessed very Rev. Fr. Pampackal Joseph sdb, the Salesian Provincial of the Province of Dimapur. The inaugural function began at 10.30 am. The Dignitaries were received duely at the School Entrance gate amid fitting Bihu dance and flanked by the senior class students.

Laying of Foundation for Spirituality Centre at DBVTC

On 31st January a significant milestone unfolded at Don Bosco Vocational Training Centre (DBVTC) with the blessing and laying of foundation of a new Spirituality Centre. Fr. Joseph Pampackal, the Provincial, blessed the site and laid the foundation stone, joined by Fr. Deli David, Vice Provincial, and Fr. Rajeesh Devasia, Economer, along with confreres from the Dimapur region. In his address, Fr. Provincial emphasized that this initiative addresses a critical need for the spiritual well-being of God’s people and shared that establishing a Spirituality Centre has been a long-standing dream of the province. Eight Novices from Dimapur Province Receive the Religious Cassock

A moment of profound grace unfolded at the Emmaus Salesian Novitiate, Sechü-Zubza, on 8th December 2025, as eight novices from our province, along with six from Guwahati Province, were clothed in the religious cassock during a solemn Holy Mass. Our Vice Provincial, Rev. Fr. Deli Kapani SDB, presided over the liturgy and addressed the young men with a powerful reflection on their new identity. He reminded them that wearing the cassock signifies their belonging to Christ and His Church, but cautioned that the true habit is worn within—embodying “compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience” (Col 3:12). 150 Years of Missionary Legacy: Dimapur Province Reflects, Celebrates, and Relaunches

The Salesian Province of Dimapur hosted a two-day Mission Seminar at Don Bosco Provincial House, commemorating the 150th Anniversary of the First Salesian Missionary Expedition that sailed from Valdocco to Patagonia in 1875. The seminar was held on the theme: “Give Thanks, Rethink and Relaunch.” It brought together Salesians, members of the Salesian family, educators, youth animators, young priests, students of philosophy and lay collaborators from across the province to reflect on the missionary spirit of Don Bosco and to renew commitment to evangelization in today’s context. IND Province Retreats 2025

The Province of Dimapur conducted three retreats this year, all preached by Rt. Rev. Bp. Dennis Panipitchai SDB, DD, Auxiliary Bishop of Miao Diocese, Arunachal Pradesh. The retreats were held from 25th September to 1st October, 4th to 10th October, and 16th to 22nd October 2025. Bishop Panipitchai, a fellow Salesian who has served extensively across the Northeast, emphasized the importance of cultivating a strong prayer life and remaining committed to the Church and our congregation. The retreats provided ample opportunity for personal reflection, silence, and prayer, allowing the confreres to deepen their spiritual lives and renew their commitment to their vocation.

Don Bosco Sports Academy (DBSA) Students Claim Eight Gold Medals at South Asian International Games

Don Bosco Sports Academy (DBSA), Dimapur, in collaboration with the All Nagaland Shaolin Kung-Fu Association (ANSKA), made history at the 4th South Asian International Games as its Shaolin Kung-Fu students swept all eight gold medals in their respective categories during the competition held in Kathmandu, Nepal.
