Six Salesian clerics from the Dimapur Province professed their Perpetual Vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience this year. Four clerics—Br. Humtsoe Zabenthung Dominic John, Br. Patton Zechamo Urbanus, Br. Newmei Isaiah, and Br. Lakra Lalit—made their profession at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Wokha, while Br. Reuben Thaimei and Br. Probin Kullu professed at Sacred Heart Theological College, Mawlai, Shillong.
The ceremony at Wokha was celebrated by Rev. Fr. Joseph Pampackal SDB, Provincial of the Salesian Province of Dimapur, alongside 20 concelebrating priests. In his homily, Fr. Pampackal emphasized lifelong commitment to God through the Salesian way of life, quoting Don Bosco’s motto : “Give me souls, take away the rest.”
The celebration drew a packed congregation of religious, family members, parishioners, and well-wishers. After the sacred rites, the community honored the newly professed with a felicitation program featuring songs and congratulations from various groups.
The event marked a significant moment of spiritual commitment and joyful celebration for the Salesian congregation and the faithful of Wokha.
