Golaghat, 29 June: Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC)-67 was successfully organised by 74 Assam Girls’ (Independent) Company NCC, Golaghat, in collaboration with Don Bosco College, Golaghat, from 20 to 29 June 2026. The camp brought together 328 NCC cadets from 16 colleges, providing them with intensive military training, leadership development, personality enhancement, and social awareness programmes.
The camp aimed at nurturing discipline, leadership, self-reliance, and national integration among the cadets through a comprehensive training schedule. Cadets underwent rigorous sessions in drill, weapon training with the .22 rifle, map reading, field craft, physical fitness, yoga, disaster management, leadership, and personality development. Various sports and recreational activities, including volleyball and three-legged races, further promoted teamwork, sportsmanship, and camaraderie.
The camp was inaugurated in the presence of Brigadier Karnail Singh, Group Commander, NCC Group Headquarters, Jorhat, who addressed the cadets and inspired them to uphold the core ideals of the National Cadet Corps—discipline, leadership, unity, and selfless service to the nation.
Dr. Fr. A. Amaladoss, SDB, Principal of Don Bosco College, Golaghat, also addressed the gathering and encouraged the cadets to cultivate a deep sense of patriotism, strengthen the spirit of common fraternity, and uphold respect for people of all communities, cultures, and religions. He urged the young cadets to become responsible citizens committed to nation-building and social harmony.
The camp featured several expert-led awareness sessions. Dr. Gaurav Kr. Dutta conducted an informative programme on cancer awareness, highlighting the importance of early detection and healthy living. The Cyber Branch of Golaghat Police sensitised cadets on cyber security, safe digital practices, and cybercrime prevention. The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) organised a display of modern security equipment, familiarising cadets with its operational significance.
Officials from Golaghat Police conducted an awareness programme on crime against women, focusing on women’s rights, legal provisions, and personal safety. The Fire & Emergency Services, Golaghat, demonstrated practical fire-fighting techniques, while Civil Defence officials trained cadets in disaster management and emergency response. A special session on girls’ health and hygiene further promoted awareness on personal health, sanitation, and well-being.
To strengthen the spirit of national unity, Ms. Gouravi Rajkhowa, CTO, Don Bosco College, Golaghat, delivered an inspiring lecture on National Integration, emphasising unity in diversity and the vital role of youth in building a strong and inclusive nation.
The camp concluded on 29 June 2026 with a colourful Cultural Fest, graced by distinguished guests and dignitaries. The cadets presented vibrant cultural performances reflecting the rich cultural heritage and diversity of the region, promoting confidence, teamwork, cultural harmony, and national integration. The valedictory programme was graced by Mr. Bivash Das, APS, Golaghat.
The organisers expressed special appreciation to the CTO and NCC cadets of Don Bosco College, Golaghat, for their remarkable leadership, dedication, commitment, and organisational skills throughout the ten-day camp, which significantly contributed to its smooth and successful conduct.
The Commanding Officer of 74 Assam Girls’ (Independent) Company NCC, Golaghat, along with the PI Staff, Medical Staff, Care Taking Officers (CTOs), and Associate NCC Officers (ANOs), played a pivotal role in guiding, mentoring, and ensuring the welfare, discipline, and overall development of the cadets during the camp.
The successful completion of CATC-67 reaffirmed the National Cadet Corps’ commitment to developing disciplined, confident, socially responsible, and patriotic youth, while reinforcing its enduring motto, “Unity and Discipline.”
