The first-ever Summer Bible Camp 2026 was successfully organized by St. Joseph Church, Maram Bazar, under St. John Bosco Parish, marking a historic milestone in the faith formation of the parish children.
Held from June 25th to June 28th, 2026, at Don Bosco Higher Secondary School (DBHSS), Maram Centre, the four-day residential camp brought together 80 young participants from Class 5 and above. The camp was specially conducted for the Catcheschim Sunday School children during their summer vacation, providing them an immersive experience of faith, fellowship, and learning.
Centered on the Gospel theme, “Let the little children come to me” (Matthew 19:14), the camp sought to draw the young hearts closer to Christ through prayer, instruction, and joyful community living.
Esteemed resource persons enriched the sessions with their guidance and witness. Fr. Talu Phuba James, SDB, Parish Priest, along with Sr. Pascualina, FMA, addressed the campers through a live video conference, encouraging them to deepen their love for Christ and the Church.
The spiritual and catechetical animations focused deeply on “The Root and Stem of the Catholic Church,” exploring the fundamental pillars of our faith: Church History, the Holy Eucharist, and Sacred Scripture. These formative sessions were ably led by Fr. Sandeep Barla, SDB, Vice-Principal of DBHSS Maram, together with Sr. Sania Rosemary, FMA, and Sr. Patricia Rino, FMA.
They were generously supported by a team of dedicated parish catechists and lay animators: Manuikaluba Andrew, Ngounihingba Felix, Thuiba Samuel Mansfield, Psiikouna John, Benjamin, Hingba Alphonse, and Dr. Ngouniba Peter, District Leprosy Officer.
As a residential camp, the children experienced community prayer, Holy Mass, group activities, action songs, Bible sharing, and night adoration, creating an atmosphere where faith was both taught and lived.
The landmark camp concluded on a note of gratitude and joy, hailed as a major success. It fostered deep faith, enriched scriptural knowledge, and strengthened Christian fellowship among the 80 young participants, leaving them renewed in their identity as beloved children of God.
The parish extends heartfelt thanks to all resource persons, animators, DBHSS Maram, and parents for making this first Summer Bible Camp a grace-filled success.
