Parish Recognises 33 Successful Students for Outstanding Performance in Matric, NIOS and Higher Secondary Examinations

Harmutty, June 21: In a joyous celebration of academic excellence and perseverance, Harmutty Parish organised a Felicitation Programme for Successful Students on June 21, 2026, honouring students who excelled in the Matriculation, National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS), and Higher Secondary examinations. The event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of parishioners, parents, teachers, students, and well-wishers, making it a memorable occasion of thanksgiving and encouragement.

The programme began with a warm welcome, followed by the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, symbolising the light of knowledge, wisdom, and hope. An introductory address underlined the transformative power of education and encouraged the young achievers to pursue their dreams with determination while remaining grounded in faith, values, and service to society.

The celebration was further enlivened by colourful cultural performances presented by Malu Basti Mandali, Paccaline Mandali, and Basbari Mandali, whose traditional dances added a festive spirit to the occasion and showcased the rich cultural heritage of the local community.

The highlight of the programme was the felicitation of 33 successful students from the parish who brought laurels to their families and the parish through their academic achievements.

According to the parish records, the successful candidates included:

  • Matriculation Examination 2026: 16 students qualified, including 3 in the First Division, 5 in the Second Division, and 8 in the Third Division.
  • NIOS Examination: 6 students successfully passed, comprising 4 in the First Division and 2 in the Second Division.
  • Higher Secondary Examination: 13 students were felicitated, including 8 securing First Division and 5 obtaining Second Division.

The outstanding performance of the students reflected their hard work, dedication, and the constant support of their parents, teachers, and the parish community.

The programme was graced by the presence of Fr. Hilarius Ekka, Fr. Joshua, and Fr. M.R. Alex, whose presence added solemnity and significance to the celebration. Addressing the gathering, the priests congratulated the students for their commendable achievements and appreciated the sacrifices made by parents and teachers in nurturing them.

In their inspiring messages, they reminded the students that true education goes beyond academic success and calls for the formation of character, integrity, compassion, and a spirit of service. They urged the young achievers to continue pursuing higher education with dedication and to become responsible citizens who contribute positively to society and the Church.
