The Salesian Province of Dimapur joyfully celebrated the Priestly Ordination of Rev. Fr. Poji Thovitho Elvis, SDB, on 27th December 2025. The sacred rite of ordination was conferred by Most Rev. Dr. James Thoppil, Bishop of Kohima, Nagaland, in the presence of Salesians, religious, family members, and the faithful.
Ordained at St. Xavier Parish Church, Meluri, Fr. Elvis is the first Salesian priest from the Pochury community, making the occasion a moment of great pride and joy for the local Church and the Salesian Congregation.
The solemn Eucharistic celebration marked a significant milestone in his vocational journey, following years of formation and pastoral training across Northeast India and beyond. The Province rejoices in this gift of priesthood and assures Rev. Fr. Poji Thovitho Elvis of continued prayers and fraternal support as he begins his priestly ministry in the spirit of Don Bosco.
