Don Bosco College (Autonomous) Maram Achieves Historic Fourth Consecutive Manipur State Award for Educational Excellence

Don Bosco College (Autonomous), Maram has made history by receiving the Manipur State Award for Educational Excellence 2025 for the fourth consecutive year, a remarkable feat achieved during the State Level Teachers’ Day Celebration held at the City Convention Centre, Palace Compound.

The award was presented by Dr. Puneet Kumar Goel, IAS, Chief Secretary of the Government of Manipur, who served as the Chief Guest at the ceremony jointly organized by the Department of Education (Schools), Higher and Technical Education, SCERT, and Adult Education, Government of Manipur.

This marks the fourth consecutive time Don Bosco College Maram has received this prestigious state-level award, having been honored with the same recognition in 2022, 2023, and 2024. This remarkable achievement demonstrates the college’s unwavering commitment to maintaining the highest educational standards.

The College, established and administered by the Salesians of Don Bosco, is a premier minority Catholic institution with the motto “Learn, Excel & Lead.” It is permanently affiliated to Manipur University and has been re-accredited by NAAC with an ‘A’ Grade (CGPA 3.35/4). The institution is also recognized as a College with Potential for Excellence (CPE) by the UGC.

With a current student strength of 2,379, the college offers a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes across Arts, Science, and Commerce streams. The institution boasts excellent infrastructure including 60+ smart classrooms, computer and science labs, and comprehensive hostel facilities managed by various religious congregations.

This latest achievement adds to the college’s impressive track record of national recognitions, including being the 1st Mentor College in North East India (PARAMARSH) by UGC, receiving the National Award for Best SBSI Team 2018 by the Hon’ble Prime Minister, and the National NSS Award 2018-19 for Best NSS Unit by the Hon’ble President of India. The college has also been recognized as a Swachhta Action Plan Institution by MGNCRE, Ministry of Education, and has consistently produced outstanding academic results with 74 rank holders in 2021 and 50 rank holders each in 2022 and 2023 in Manipur University examinations.

The award ceremony was presided over by R.K. Dinesh Singh, IAS, Principal Secretary (Higher and Technical Education/SCERT/Adult Education/AR/MAHUD) and Commissioner (Education), with Shri Naorem Praveen Singh, IAS, Secretary (Education-S/YAS/OBC & SC/MA), attending as a dais member.

This recognition brings honor to the Salesian educational mission in Manipur and adds to Don Bosco College Maram’s reputation as a quality educational institution in the state.
